After more than 14 years of practicing holistic and preventative medicine through physical therapy and sports medicine, I can most definitely say it has been the most rewarding part of my career. My practice style has remained the same. I spend plenty of quality time with each patient and my support staff is also trained to do the same. The joy and satisfaction of knowing I have made a difference in the lives of patients and their families is incomparable. My practice attracts patients who have not had success with conventional medicine or they cannot tolerate or will not take prescription drugs. I integrate a natural approach to conventional medicine, including natural alternatives to prescription drugs, vitamin and nutrient supplements as well as nutritional advice. Although my main focus is prevention, I specialize in chronic illness.
I am a Board Certified Chiropractic Physician and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. I earned degrees in Physical Therapy at Indian River State College and Athletic Training at the University of Florida. Upon graduation, I practiced Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in skilled-nursing facilities and at UF’s Student Health Care Center, respectively. I vividly remember the moment my passion for Chiropractic Medicine began. It was 2012 and a PT patient of mine, who suffered from chronic low back pain, had gone away for the summer. When she returned, her pain was gone. As it turns out, she had seen a chiropractor.
I had to know more.
Years later, I graduated from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic, and later completed my post-graduate training with Functional Medicine University. I also had the pleasure of teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries as an adjunct faculty member at University of Florida’s College of Health and Human Performance, as well as advising and mentoring students.
I take a holistic approach when consulting with patients, and understand that symptoms are often an indication of other issues within the body that need attention and care. My knowledge of human anatomy from my background in physical therapy combined with my functional medicine training equip me with an integrated and all-encompassing perspective that few other chiropractors possess.
I see a wide range of patients, from children to the elderly, who are all seeking natural ways to improve their health. In addition to sound nutritional and preventative advice, I offer a wide range of medical services including immune systems support and detoxification protocols. I can also offer you specialty testing in the fields of hormones, food and environmental allergies, as well as testing for nutritional deficiencies, candida, heavy metal burden, and immune surveillance.
